400-acre mixed use development centered on a new environmental history museum along the Catawba River. Careful analysis of the existing topography determined the footprint of the new development to preserve sensitive watersheds and habitat. The northern edge is an elliptical community green, with fingers of housing projecting southward. The housing typology approximates a traditional Charleston house, with side entrances and south-facing porches.
